Chicago firefighter injured amid building fire in South Shore, CFD says

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago firefighters battled a building fire in the South Shore neighborhood on Saturday morning.

Firefighters responded to the fire at about 6:30 a.m. at 7558 S Kingston Avenue, CFD said.

ABC7 was at the scene as crews blocked the surrounding streets to get the fire under control.

A firefighter had a minor injury, CFD said.

It was not clear what caused the fire.

The Chicago Fire Department said no major injuries were reported.
