13-year-old girl shot in drive-by shooting on South Side, Chicago police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A 13-year-old girl was shot on the city's South Side on Friday, Chicago police said.

The shooting happened at 9:44 p.m. near 38th Street and South Cottage Grove Avenue, according to police.

The girl was standing outside when a car drove by and someone inside started shooting.

The teen was shot several times and rushed to Comer Children's Hospital.

At last check she was in critical condition.

Chicago police said nobody was in custody.
