14-year-old shot in Loop, Chicago police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago police are investigating the shooting of a 14-year-old boy in the Loop.

The shooting happened on Monday at about 8:31 p.m. in the 100-block of Washington Street, Chicago police said.

The 14-year-old was standing outside when police said someone approached and started to shoot.

The victim was shot in the left foot and taken to an area hospital. He is expected to be OK.

CPD said nobody is in custody.

No other information was available.
