Boy, 12, shot on West Side, Chicago police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A 12-year-old boy was shot and wounded while inside a vehicle on the city's West Side, Chicago police said.

The shooting took place at about 6:50 p.m. in the 900-block North Leamington Avenue.

Police said the boy was in a vehicle when he suffered a graze wound to the head. He was transported to Loyola University Medical Center, where he was listed in fair condition.

Two persons of interest were taken into custody by responding officers, police said. Area Four detectives are investigating.
