Bomb squad investigation shuts down lanes on I-290 in west suburbs | LIVE

HILLSIDE, Ill. (WLS) -- An investigation has shut down lanes on the Eisenhower Expressway Thursday morning.

The investigation has blocked lanes in both directions between 25th Avenue and Wolf Road.

Chopper 7 flew above the scene as an SUV appeared in a middle lane with its windows blown out. A bomb squad unit from the Cook County Sheriff's Police appeared to investigate the SUV.

The ATF has also responded to the scene. The incident started at around 10 a.m. Further details on what led up to the investigation were not immediately available.

Alternate routes include Roosevelt Road, 21st Street and Cermak Avenue.
