
CHICAGO (WLS) -- A man was charged with attempted murder after a shootout with Chicago police officers.
The shooting happened Monday around 10:35 p.m. in the 3100-block of East 83rd Street, police said.
Cordero Ramey, 26 of Chicago, was charged with two counts of attempted murder in the first degree, and other charged related to firearm and drug posession.
According to the CPD, officers stopped Ramey who allegedly had a gun.
During the stop, shots were fired and the suspect was struck.
He was taken into custody and transported to University of Chicago Hospital where he is listed in serious condition.
A firearm was recovered on the scene, police said.
No officers were struck by gunfire. Both officers were transported to a local hospital for observation.
The Civilian Office of Police Accountability is investigating.
