Man shot during robbery in Avondale: Chicago police

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A 37-year-old man was shot during a robbery on Chicago's Northwest Side Tuesday night, Chicago police said.

The man was walking in the 3200-block of North Milwaukee Avenue in Avondale just before 8:50 p.m., when a male suspect armed with a gun approached him and demanded his belongings, police said.

The man complied, and then ran away, police said.

That's when the robber shot the victim, CPD said.

The man was shot in the leg, and taken to Illinois Masonic hospital in good condition.

No one is in custody, and Area Five detectives are investigating.
