The shooting happened around 5:15 p.m. in the 2100 block of West Granville Avenue in the West Rogers Park area, police said.
The victim, a 17-year-old boy, was approached by an armed male offender on an electric scooter who demanded his property. After taking items, the suspect shot at teen in the upper body and left forearm, CPD said.
The boy was taken to a local hospital in critical condition. No arrests have been made.

Man found shot to death in Cabrini-Green 1 week after another fatal shooting on same block: CPD
A man was found shot to death on the city's North Side early Sunday morning, Chicago police said.
Officers responded to a call about a person shot in the Cabrini-Green neighborhood's 800-block of North Cambridge Avenue around 12:20 a.m.
Last weekend, another man was shot to to death on the same block, police said.
