Man shot on Northwest Side, Chicago police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A man was shot on the city's Northwest Side on Saturday morning, Chicago police said.

The shooting happened at about 4:41 a.m. in the 1100-block of North Hoyne Avenue in Ukrainian Village in the West Town area, police said.

A 23-year-old man was inside a vehicle when a black Nissan sedan approached and someone started to shoot.

The man was shot in the back. He was rushed to an area hospital and was expected to be okay.

No one was in custody. Police are investigating.
