Man shot to death in Uptown, Chicago police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago police are investigating a deadly shooting on the city's North Side.

The shooting happened at about 4 a.m. in the 5100-block of N. Sheridan Road in the Uptown neighborhood near Edgewater, Chicago police said.

Officers responded to a call of a person shot in the area and found a 23-year-old man outside.

The victim had a gunshot wound to the head; police said he died at the scene.

A witness told police they saw a vehicle fleeing from the scene of the shooting.

Nobody is in custody. Chicago police are investigating.
