Shooting reports temporarily shut down Tri-State Tollway in south suburbs: ISP

COOK COUNTY, Ill. (WLS) -- Reports of a shooting on the I-294 Tri-State Tollway caused a shut down during the Monday morning commute.

Illinois State Police said they received reports of a shooting at about 4:31 a.m. on the northbound lanes of I-294 near the ramp to Halsted.

Chopper 7 was over the scene at about 7 a.m. as police shut down I-294 to canvas the area.

Traffic was being diverted to Halsted.

Chopper 7 captured as all lanes reopened by 7:35 a.m.

ISP said there were no injuries in the shooting.
