Dump truck crash leaves major delays on Kennedy Expy. near downtown Chicago: ISp

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chopper 7 was over a crash involving a dump truck on Wednesday morning on the inbound Kennedy Expressway.

The crash happened around 6 a.m. on the inbound I-94 lanes near Monroe Street, video from Chopper 7 shows.

Illinois State Police said the crash happened at about 5:32 a.m. at Madison.

ISP said a dump truck sideswiped a pickup truck and then crashed into the median wall.

The driiver of the dump truck was taken to an area hospital with injuries.

Major delays were expected to continue through the morning as crews worked to reopen all lanes.
