Semi strikes building, causing partial roof collapse in Jefferson Park, police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chopper 7 was over a partial roof collapse on Chicago's Northwest Side on Monday morning.

The collapse happened in Jefferson Park at Elston Avenue between Leclaire Avenue and Laramie Avenue.

Chicago police said a semi track was backing into the building when it crashed into it.

The building was evacuated.

The Department of Buildings is working with the Chicago Fire Department for remediation.

Chicago police said no injuries were reported.
