Police investigating attempted abduction of student walking to school in Dolton

DOLTON, Ill. (WLS) -- Dolton police are investigating after a man allegedly tried to kidnap a student.

The attempted abduction happened Wednesday near 142nd Street and Cottage Grove in Dolton, near Lincoln Elementary School, police said.

Dolton West School District 148's superintendent sent a letter to parents, stating that a man tried to kidnap a student there.

ABC7 was told Friday that the student is doing okay.
