Blagojevich asking Trump for clemency for ex-ComEd CEO in bribery case

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich is asking President Donald Trump for another favor.

Blagojevich, who has established a lobbying firm, is seeking clemency for ex-ComEd CEO Anne Pramaggiore.

She and three others were convicted of a scheme to influence former Illinois House Speaker Mike Madigan in exchange for legislation that favored the company.

She was sentenced to two years in prison, which she is set to start next month.

"She is pursuing all avenues to reverse this injustice. If former Governor Blagojevich can help turn this wrong to right, she's glad to have his help," Pramaggiore said in a statement.

In a statement, Blagojevich says he's doing his best to prevent "a terrible injustice."

He was pardoned by President Trump last February for his own corruption conviction.
