Former Robbins acting police chief pleads guilty to battery in 2024 station attack

ROBBINS, Ill. (WLS) -- Former Robbins acting police Chief Carl Scott pleaded guilty to battery charges Monday.

This is in connection to an attack in July of 2024.

Scott knocked a man's cellphone from his hands and then punched him.

That man was filming at the Robbins police station at the time.

A Cook County judge sentenced Scott to two years of probation, and revoked his law enforcement certificate.

That means he can no longer work as a police officer.

A trial was set to begin Monday, before Scott entered the plea.

He was named Robbins police chief in 2022, and resigned days after the 2024 incident.
