Homicide investigation underway after body pulled from Lake Michigan, officials say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A homicide investigation is now underway after a man's body was pulled from Lake Michigan near downtown Chicago early Saturday morning.

Chicago police said the Chicago Fire Department recovered the body at about 3 a.m. Saturday in the 200-block of North Lakefront Trail at Monroe Harbor.

The man was pronounced dead on the scene. His identity has not yet been released.

The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office ruled the man's death a homicide on Sunday. How he died was not immediately clear.
