Chicago-area dad hits $1M jackpot using kids' birthday numbers, Illinois Lottery says

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A Chicago-area dad is celebrating big after winning $1,000,001 by using the iLottery app.

The father and music producer matched all five numbers in the January 4 Lucky Day Lotto evening drawing, securing the $1,000,000 jackpot.

The winning numbers were: 19-28-30-40-42.

He won an extra dollar for matching two numbers on a separate line.

"I was in bed and told [my wife] right away," he recalled. "She said, 'What, are you serious? No way!'"

Dubbed "Music Man," the winner says he plans to treat his family.

"I plan to surprise my kids with a new house. After all, their birthday numbers landed me the jackpot."
