CHICAGO (WLS) -- A police chase ended in a crash on Chicago's West Side, injuring a police officer and the driver of a carjacked van early Saturday morning.
Illinois State Police said troopers found the van around 1:15 a.m., but the driver fled.
At one point, three passengers ran away from the van, ISP said.
ISP said the vehicle then crashed head-on into a Chicago police squad car at West Madison Street and North Pulaski Road in the Garfield Park neighborhood.
The carjacked van's driver tried to run away but was stopped by officers.
That driver and a CPD officer suffered injuries and were transported to a local hospital. Their conditions were not immediately known.
Authorities did not immediately provide further information.
