Judge rules in favor of Tiffany Henyard in rent dispute with landlord

DOLTON, Ill. (WLS) -- Former Dolton Mayor Tiffany Henyard won a legal victory in her dispute with a former landlord. But her boyfriend is on the hook.

The landlord claims Henyard and Kamal Woods owe nearly $10,000 in unpaid rent and other costs.

A judge ruled on Monday that Henyard's name was not properly signed on the lease. However, Woods owes the landlord more than $7,000.

The judge also ruled that Henyard's Social Security number was willfully exposed in documents.

Henyard is entitled to $1,000 from the landlord to offset the costs of an ID protection service. The landlord also has to pay Henyard $500 in attorney fees.
