
HARRIS COUNTY, Texas -- Two young girls are dead after reports of a potential drowning in the Katy, Texas area on Wednesday, according to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.
Gonzalez said that both girls were pronounced dead at the hospital despite lifesaving efforts.
The Harris County Sheriff's Office said it all started when a woman called 911 and was screaming that two kids had drowned at a pool.
Authorities said the young girls lived at the home with their mom and grandparents.

When deputies arrived at the scene, they found EMS performing life-saving measures. The young girls, ages 2 and 3 , were taken via LifeFlight to the hospital.
According to preliminary information, the grandmother had returned from grocery shopping and saw the girls in the pool. She started screaming and tried pulling them out when her daughter and husband assisted, as well as neighbors.
The homicide and crime scene departments are investigating.
