On Wednesday, about two weeks after the shooting, Lansing police announced a suspect is now facing charges.

Devon A. Johnson, 31, of Thornton has been charged with first-degree murder, police said. Johnson is a former employee of the business where the shooting happened.

Officers were called for an active shooter June 4 at Nippon Paint Automotive Americas at 170th and Oakwood in Lansing. When police got to the scene they said they found a worker dead, with a single gunshot wound.

The victim has now been identified as 48-year-old Andrew Coleman of Highland, Indiana, police said.

Investigators searched four large buildings at the facility the day of the shooting, but didn't find anyone. The investigation drew a massive police response, and people were forced to stay in their homes for hours.

Johnson was arrested recently in Chicago, Lansing police said.

No further information was available and the suspect is expected appear in court in the coming days for his first hearing.
