Police investigating after body found near train tracks in Libertyville; Metra trains delayed

LIBERTYVILLE, Ill. (WLS) -- Police are investigating after a body was found Friday evening near train tracks in the north suburbs.

The incident happened in Libertyville near Winchester and Ellis, officials said.

A spokesperson for Metra says a train did not hit the person.

The Lake County Coroner is working to figure out a cause of death and the identity of the person.

Some trains on the Metra Milwaukee District North Line were operating with delays.
