Woman seriously hurt after fire breaks out at NW Side home: officials

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A woman was hospitalized in serious condition after a fire broke out at a Northwest Side home on Saturday morning, officials said.

Chicago police said its officers and Chicago Fire Department firefighters responded to a building fire in the Logan Square neighborhood's 3000-block of North Davlin Ct. just before 10 a.m.

CFD said crews pulled a woman from the home. CPD said that woman, who was suffering from smoke inhalation, was transported to Stroger Hospital in serious condition.

A firefighter, who suffered a minor knee injury, was also taken to a local hospital, CFD said.

No other injuries were reported.

Police said the fire displaced three women and two men.

How the fire started was not immediately clear.

Authorities are investigating.
