Metra to test new ticket process with riders scanning tickets before boarding

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Metra is testing out new ticket checks at five downtown Chicago stations.

Starting April 6, Metra train riders will need to have their Ventra or paper ticket scanned before boarding trains.

It will start with select off-peak trains, but may be expanded to rush-hour trains if tests go well.
