Masked suspects caught on camera in attempted car burglary in Mount Prospect

MOUNT PROSPECT, Ill. (WLS) -- Five people wearing masks were caught on security video breaking into a car in the northwest suburbs.

It happened at about 5:20 a.m. in the 1700-block of East Camp McDonald Road on Tuesday, Mount Prospect police said.

The victim noticed someone had tampered with her Chevrolet Camaro when she went out and the door was stuck and unable to open.

Surveillance video shows two vehicles pulled up, and five people wearing masks approaching the car.

Police said two of the masked subjects appear to be holding handguns.

The victim told police nothing was missing from her car.
