Video shows fatal Mundelein police shooting of woman who appeared to be armed with knives

MUNDELEIN, Ill. (WLS) -- Officials have released body camera video showing a deadly north suburban police shooting back in May.

The shooting happened on May 11 in Mundelein, and the video may be disturbing to watch.

Mundelein police say Mary Alice Love's mother called police, saying she was worried about her daughter.

When officers arrived, they found Love's mother in the house. Then, as they spoke to her mother, they saw Love sitting in the backyard with what appeared to be large knives sitting next to her.

Then as they tried to remove Love's mother from the house, Love approached.

ABC7 froze the video the moment the deadly shots were fired.

Police slowed down the video, showing what they say were the knives in Love's hand as she tried to enter the home.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
