Oswego Portillo's partially reopens after crash that killed 2-year-old

OSWEGO, Ill. (WLS) -- A Portillo's in Oswego partially reopened on Monday afternoon after a driver plowed through the front doors last week.

A driver crashed into the restaurant Wednesday, killing a 2-year-old boy and injuring 12 others.

On Monday, a company spokesperson told ABC7 the location would reopen its drive-thru at 3 p.m.

The dining room will remain closed.

The number of stuffed animals and flowers has grown for the child killed in the crash at a tree near the Portillo's.

Oswego police said the toddler was struck, and he later died at a nearby hospital from his injuries.

The Kane County Coroner's Office said it has no plans to release the identity of the deceased 2-year-old boy.

Officials initially said 14 were injured in the crash, but later revised the number to 13 before the boy died from his injuries.
