Kang was arrested on June 26.

Illinois State Police responded to the crash just before 5:30 a.m. on westbound I-80 at Torrence Avenue.

Sebastian D. Stone died on the scene, and the suspect vehicle drove away, police said.

Stone had just left home and was heading to work in Elk Grove Village when his trip was cut short, his family said.

Family members said Stone pulled over after experiencing a tire issue. While trying to fix it, he was hit.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to support his family.

Kang is being held in the Cook County Jail, pending his first court appearance.
