Portillo's president, CEO resigns 'effective immediately'

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Portillo's announced the resignation of its president and CEO on Tuesday.

Michael Osanloo departed the Chicago-based company "effective immediately."

He served as CEO and president since October 2018 and oversaw the company through an IPO launch and expansion to 96 locations.

An interim CEO was installed and the search is on for a permanent replacement.

During the transition, Osanloo will serve was a special advisor for the company over the next 90 days.
