Queen of Martyrs in Evergreen Park to hold farewell celebration after school closure

EVERGREEN PARK, Ill. (WLS) -- A school that recently closed in Evergreen Park is going to say goodbye in a farewell celebration.

Mass, reception and school tours are set for 11 a.m. Sunday to celebrates Queen of Martyrs' 74-year legacy.

The Chicago Archdiocese announced that it was closing the school in June. It said enrollment was falling and the school was projected to have a deficit of more than $400,000.
