Man pleads guilty to beating 67-year-old to death in Albany Park, court documents show

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A man pleaded guilty to beating a 67-year-old man to death on Chicago's Northwest Side, court documents show.

The crime happened in June 2024 in the 3100 block of W. Lawrence Avenue, police said.

Richard Orozco, 40, of the 3100 block of West Eastwood Avenue was charged with beating a 67-year-old man.

The victim died to his injuries, Chicago police said.

Orozco pleaded guilty to one count of second degree murder.

He was sentenced to 20 years IDOC. He was given credit for 562 days served.
