Serious crash prompts police response in Forest View

FOREST VIEW, Ill. (WLS) -- A serious crash impacted traffic in the south suburbs on Friday morning.

Chopper 7 spotted investigators and at least three damaged vehicles at the scene in Forest View.

One vehicle was being attached to a tow truck around 6 a.m.

The crash impacted traffic for several hours.

Southbound Central Avenue was blocked from Pershing Road to 47th Street, and northbound Central was blocked from 47th to Interstate 55. The exit ramp to Central was also closed.

All roads have since reopened.

Illinois State Police said Summit police are investigating, and ISP is helping with the closures.

What led up to the crash was not immediately clear.

Authorities did not immediately provide information on injuries.
