Sista Strut set for Saturday to raise breast cancer awareness

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Wednesday marks the first day of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and, this weekend, a sisterhood of pink will step off from Chicago's South Side in hopes of finding a cure.

Sista Strut is back at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Salvation Army Kroc Center, located at 1250 W. 119th St. in West Pullman.

Tone Kapone, 107.5 WGCI afternoon host, joined ABC7 Chicago Wednesday to talk all about the party.

A pink wave is rippling on Chicago's South Side on Saturday morning, in hopes of finding a cure for breast cancer.

He discussed his personal connection to the cause, why it's important to raise awareness about breast cancer and why supporting the event is important to the community.
