Shocking video shows man violently snatch little girl from mother's hand

CCTV footage captured the shocking moment a man attempted to grab a one-year-old child at a supermarket in northern Italy.

The video shows the man grabbing the girl violently as she was walking out of the Esselunga mall in Bergamo with her mother on February 14.

The mother tried her best to prevent the alleged attempted kidnapping. This led to a frantic scuffle, with bystanders rushing to help the mother.

Italian State Police said that "responding officers quickly arrived to arrest the man."

"Subsequent investigations, including the collection of witness statements and analysis of video surveillance footage, allowed the judicial authorities to charge him with attempted aggravated kidnapping and aggravated assault," they said.

According to the statement, the girl was taken to the hospital for medical checks, and was found to have a fractured femur as a result of the incident.
