BROADVIEW, Ill. (WLS) -- The west suburban village of Broadview is taking action to prevent Immigration and Customs Enforcement from expanding its facility there.
The Broadview Village Board voted to restrict where ICE facilities can be, banning them from being within 1,000 feet of residential areas, schools, day cares and more.
The Broadview ICE facility has often been at the center of tense protests during the Department of Homeland Security's Chicago-area immigration enforcement operation "Midway Blitz."
