Will County approves Flock cameras
The Will County Board approved Flock cameras for Mokena, Crete, Manhattan, Frankfort, Naperville and Wilmington.

WILL COUNTY, Ill. (WLS) -- More controversial Flock license plate reading cameras are coming to the Chicago area.

The Will County Board will allow them in Mokena, Crete, Manhattan, Frankfort, Naperville and Wilmington. All of them recently adopted stricter rules and policies for the technology.

There have been concerns about alleged misuse of the cameras.

A former Wisconsin sheriff's deputy is now charged with using Flock cameras to track a co-worker for personal reasons. In suburban Itasca, an officer is out of a job after allegedly misusing the technology.
