Ye was barred from entering UK, where he was scheduled to headline festival after backlash over history of antisemitic remarks

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, is making his return to Chicago with two concerts.
The Chicago native is performing at Soldier Field Thursday and Friday.
Ye last performed in Chicago in 2021.
He grew up on the South Side.
Earlier this year, Ye was barred from entering the United Kingdom, where he was scheduled to headline the Wireless Festival after backlash over his history of antisemitic remarks.
The 48-year-old has apologized in a letter, published as a full-page advertisement in The Wall Street Journal. He said his bipolar disorder led him to fall into "a four-month long, manic episode of psychotic, paranoid and impulsive behavior that destroyed my life."
In a news release, the Anti-Defamation League said it plans to be outside Solder Field Thursday afternoon to provide antisemitism and hate symbol training.
The Associated Press contributed to this report.
