Speck's lone survivor talks to I-Team
Nearly 50 years ago, Richard Speck killed 8 nurses in Chicago. The only nurse who survived spoke exclusively with ABC7's Chuck Goudie in 1991.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- In July 1966, America hadn't yet become numb to random violence. But Richard Speck - a drifter with an attitude, a gun and a knife - changed that.

Speck murdered eight nursing students from South Chicago Community Hospital. There was one survivor: a student nurse who saved herself by hiding under a bed.

She did one television interview 25 years ago with the I-Team - an extraordinary woman who crossed paths with a loathsome man.

Now, with the 50th anniversary of the massacre by Speck approaching, we are recuing our report on the compelling interview with the sole survivor of this grisly attack.
