Rube Goldberg Machine Contest win goes to team led by Palatine student Adam Bahrainwala

CHICAGO -- A whimsical machine can help you get ready in the morning. Slowly.

A team of students from the Purdue Society of Professional Engineers took the top prize at the Rube Goldberg Machine Contest in Columbus, Ohio, with a complicated contraption that performs everyday tasks.

This machine makes tea and toast, delivers your keys and zips your jacket.

The team president, Adam Bahrainwala, is from northwest suburban Palatine. He and the other five teammates spent 4,000 hours on the contraption, A Simple Way to Get Ready for Work.
