CHICAGO (WLS) -- A 12-year-old boy and two 17-year-old boys each face several charges Wednesday after allegedly firing shots Monday at two Chicago police officers from inside a stolen car.

The three juveniles are accused of shooting at the officers around 8:05 p.m. Monday in the 3100-block of West 13th Street in the city's Lawndale neighborhood. They opened fire from inside a vehicle that was taken Sunday during a carjacking in west suburban Forest Park, police said.

The officers who were shot at were not wounded. After a short chase, all three suspects were arrested in the 3700-block of South Pulaski Road. Police searched the juveniles and found one to be in possession of a controlled substance.

All three boys face two counts of attempted first-degree murder, two counts of aggravated discharge of a firearm at a police officer or fireman, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and aggravated possession of a stolen vehicle, all felonies, police said.

One of the 17-year-olds faces additional felony charges of aggravated fleeing police and possession of a controlled substance, police said. The other 17-year-old faces an additional misdemeanor charge of resisting or obstructing a peace officer.

All three suspects are scheduled to appear in Bond Court Wednesday.
