CHICAGO (WLS) -- Two young girls, ages 6 and 7, were injured by shattered glass when bullets flew through a South Side Pizza Hut Friday night.

Photos captured the girls showing an officer their injuries after a shooting outside the restaurant near 67th and Stony Island in the Woodlawn neighborhood.

Witnesses said the girls were picking up pizza with their mom around 6:30 p.m. Friday when they heard gunshots.

"We just heard three shots - pow, pow, pow - come out. And two girls were injured," said Pastor James Owolabi, New Beginnings Church. "They were bleeding, they were screaming...We asked the manager to open the door and ushered all the kids inside because we didn't know how many more shots were going to come through."

Fire officials said the girls were taken to University of Chicago Comer Children's Hospital. The 6-year-old girl remains hospitalized in good condition.

The shooting came just as people were marching through the streets near St. Sabina, calling for peace on the streets of Chicago as summer begins.

Police have not made any arrests. It's unclear who the shooter was targeting.
