Summit and Concert to Inspire Action
PALATINE, Ill. (WLS) -- The non-profit group Promoting Awareness | Victim Empowerment, which prevents sexual assault and helps survivors, is partnering with the Healthy Living Counseling Center, Suburban Woman Newspaper, and Erin's Law to host the Empowerment Summit (http://empowermentsummits.com/). On April 30, 2016, visitors at Durty Nellies Conference Center (180 N. Smith Street, Palatine, IL) will meet with experts on a range of mental health and wellness topics. There will also be classes in meditation, Tai Chi, and more.
After the Empowerment Summit, the Better Benefit Concert: Shattering the Silence of Sexual Violence, will feature American Idol star Haley Reinhart. The benefit concert will be fun for all ages, and will raise money for both PAVE and Erin's Law in their missions to reduce sexual violence. PAVE Founder, Angela rose, and Fitness & Lifestyle Expert, Andrea Metcalf, sat down with ABC 7 to discuss the need for sexual violence education, and their upcoming summit.
