CHICAGO (WLS) -- The Special Olympics World Games in Los Angeles in coming up on July 25 - but before the games, Chicago is hosting a celebration.

The first-ever Unifed Relay Across America will bring the Flame of Hope from Athens, Greece to Los Angeles. It will stop in Chicago on June 12.

A special celebration will be held on Saturday, June 13, before the torch continues its journey on June 14. Over the course of 46 days, in a hand-to-hand exchange, thousands of participants will run, walk or bike a segment of the relay in this team and individual fundraising event as it passes through all 50 states.

To tell us more about the event and the Special Olympics, CEO of Special Olympics Illinois Dave Breen visited the ABC 7 studios.
