The Chicago Sky's Diamond DeShields left Thursday's 101-85 victory over the New York Liberty with an apparent quadriceps injury.
She played just two minutes before being hurt and didn't return to the game in the WNBA bubble in Bradenton, Florida. Sky coach James Wade said after the game that DeShields was being evaluated at the hospital and that he had no further update.
DeShields, 25, was the Sky's leading scorer last season but has been slowed by recovering from a knee injury this season. She has not started any games, and is averaging 6.8 points and 1.8 rebounds. She started during her first two seasons in the WNBA, averaging 14.4 points in 2018 and 16.2 last year.
DeShields had one of her better games this season on Tuesday, with 12 points in a victory against Las Vegas.
Even with DeShields in a more limited role, the Sky are 9-4 and have won three in a row. They got a big lift Thursday from forward Azura Stevens, who had 25 points, while guards Courtney Vandersloot and Allie Quigley had 19 points each. Vandersloot also had 10 assists, her sixth game this season with double-digit assists.
