Step Up for Kids stair climb returns to Aon Center

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Facing an 80-story climb up the third tallest building in Chicago, runners are raising money for the Lurie Children's Hospital at the Aon Step Up for Kids stair climb.

The 19th Annual Step Up for Kids was held on Jan. 31. More than 2,500 athletes raced up the Aon Center on 200 East Randolph in Chicago. ABC 7 is a proud media partner.

The event hopes to raise $700,000 to provide support to families coping with children's health issues. The Lurie Children's Hospital cares for more than 173,000 children each year.

ABC 7 was live from top of the 80-floor Aon Building to speak with Rob Feldgraber, founding board member of K.I.D.D.S. for Kids, and Mark Goldman, Co-Founder of K.I.D.D.S. for Kids.

Hours: 7:45 a.m. welcome and program, 8 a.m. first step-off, last steppers expected to finish at 12:30 p.m.

Admission/ticket prices: $50 registration (children 12 and under free), minimum fundraising requirement is $100

Deadline to register: On-site registration will be taken the day of the event from 7-10 a.m. in the Aon Center lobby.
