ELWOOD, Ill. (WLS) -- A rail crossing described as the "most dangerous" in the state' will remain closed.
The Illinois Department of Transportation has dropped efforts to reopen the Walter Strawn Crossing in Elwood, just south of Joliet.
The Illinois Commerce Commission ordered it closed back in January after a number of close calls between trucks and trains.
