Indiana Toll Road project will last almost two years

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A massive construction project on the Indiana Toll Road is expected to begin as early as March and last for almost two years.

The company that leases the highway plans for $200 million in improvements along a 70-mile section of road from Portage to Elkhart.

Crews will put now new asphalt, replace shoulders and work on interchanges and bridges.

The official start of the project has not been announced, but it could begin as early as March and is expected to last through the end of 2017.
