CTA riders can no longer use Chicago cards, re-load magnetic stripe cards

CHICAGO (WLS) -- CTA riders who haven't gotten the Ventra card yet need to make the switch.

Monday marks the beginning of the first weekday commute where riders can no longer use a Chicago card or a Chicago Card Plus or re-load any magnetic stripe fare cards.

Sunday was the first day the old cards were no longer valid.

CTA and Pace plan to make the complete transition to Ventra July 1.
