WEST CHICAGO, Ill. (WLS) -- Three people were injured after a head-on car crash in west suburban West Chicago, police said.
The three-car accident happened shortly after 11 p.m. Friday on Route 59 near Gary's Mill Road, police said, and caused some of the cars to catch on fire.
All three people, whose ages and genders have not been released, were taken to Central DuPage Hospital. Officials have not released their conditions.
Northbound and southbound lanes on Route 59 were closed between Dayton Street and Joliet Street but have since re-opened, officials said.
Police are continuing to investigate.
